L'hort com a recurs per a treballar els objectius de desenvolupament sostenible

Abstract

L’Agenda 2030 per al Desenvolupament Sostenible planteja disset objectius (ODS) a aconseguir en temàtiques com la salut, l’educació, les desigualtats o el medi ambient. Només el compromís i les actuacions de tothom i a tots nivells poden contribuir al seu assoliment. Amb aquest treball es pretén conèixer si l'escola també fa seu aquest propòsit i si utilitza el recurs de l’hort escolar per implementar l’Educació per la Sostenibilitat en la consecució dels ODS. La recerca se centra en quatre escoles del Bages que participen en el Programa Escoles Verdes i que treballen l’hort a l’etapa d'educació infantil. Seguint una metodologia qualitativa, amb entrevistes i formularis a les docents implicades i anàlisi documental, s’observa si es tenen en compte criteris de sostenibilitat en la intervenció a l’hort, s’identifiquen quins dels Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible es treballen i si aquesta implementació es fa de manera conscient. L’estudi resol que els centres escolars contemplen criteris de sostenibilitat tant en la redacció del seu Projecte Educatiu de Centre (PEC) com en l’organització i funcionament del recurs de l’hort, i també que treballen els Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible tot i que la seva implementació no es fa de manera conscient en tots ells.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development includes seventeen goals (SDGs) to reach on issues like health, education, inequalities and the natural environment. Only compromise and everbody’s actions can contribute to the ultimate acomplishment of these objectives. This reaserch aims at discovering whether schools work in this direction and how they involve the school garden in implementing the SDGs and education for sustainability plans. The scope of this paper focuses on the schools taking part in the Green Schools programme in Bages and working in the garden with the students in early childhood education. Following a qualitative research methodology, observations on whether they considered sustainability concepts when working in the garden were drawn from interviews, surveys and document analysis. The specific Sustainable Development Goals that the school garden contributes to were listed. In addition, the reserch considers to what extent their implementation is conscious. The research concludes that schools usually introduce sustainability criteria in their PEC (the school’s Eduactional project, which contains its vision and values). They also implement them when working in the garden, a space that enables them to pursue the acomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals even though this might not always be in full awareness.
